Dr. Annixia De La Cruz, PsyD
Bilingual postdoctoral psychology fellow specializing in Health Psychology and online therapy for chronic illness, anxiety, depression, grief, and women in Florida in English and Spanish
Hi, I’m Dr. Annixia M. De la Cruz Alomar, PsyD!
I’m a bilingual postdoctoral psychology fellow offering therapy in both English and Spanish for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, motherhood stress, postpartum, and health-related concerns.
I believe in creating a supportive space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and feel genuinely heard without judgment. Together, we’ll explore the experiences, emotions, and patterns that may be impacting your well-being while also building practical tools to help you navigate daily life with more confidence.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that growth happens when we feel supported and safe enough to look inward with compassion. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or are trying to make sense of where you are in life, I’ll help you heal and move forward.
Support to help you live with greater clarity and self-compassion
Throughout our work together, I’ll help you deepen your self-awareness, connect with your strengths, and develop strategies that support your emotional well-being.
While therapy addresses current difficulties, it’s also about understanding yourself more deeply and creating a compassionate relationship with yourself.
Together, we may explore:
Patterns that contribute to stress and anxiety
Ways to regulate emotions and respond more intentionally
How relationships, life experiences, and transitions impact your well-being
Strategies that help you process emotions, ground yourself, and manage stress
Your values, motivations, goals, identity, and sense of purpose
Over time, many clients begin to feel more grounded, connected to themselves, and better able to navigate stress in their daily lives.
You deserve a place that’s just for you
Reconnect to your values and your purpose
I offer integrated trauma-informed therapy in English and Spanish for:
Anxiety
It’s difficult to feel present when you’re dealing with overthinking, racing thoughts, panic, or chronic stress. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, stressors, and patterns contributing to your anxiety while building practical tools to help you feel more regulated and supported.
Depression
Depression can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, others, and the things that once brought meaning or joy. Therapy creates space to process emotions, better understand what may be contributing to these feelings, and explore ways to care for yourself.
Health psychology and chronic health concerns
Physical health challenges can affect emotional health in profound ways. I support individuals with chronic illness, health-related stress, and other medical conditions, and help them develop coping tools that manage stress and pain, while promoting their self-care.
Grief
Many kinds of loss, including relationships, health changes, life transitions, or the death of a loved one, can bring about grief. I provide a supportive and compassionate space to process grief at your own pace.
Pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood
Becoming a parent can bring joy, uncertainty, exhaustion, and significant changes to your identity and relationships. Whether you’re adjusting to pregnancy, navigating postpartum emotions, struggling with anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood, therapy provides support, validation, and practical tools to help you care for yourself during this season of life.
Women’s mental health
I’m passionate about supporting women through the many transitions and responsibilities they carry. This includes pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, motherhood, caregiving, relationship challenges, health concerns, identity shifts, and the stress of balancing multiple roles. I’ll help you explore your needs, goals, purpose, and identity, while building tools that support your emotional well-being.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers

What is it like to work with me?
Therapy with me is collaborative and centered around helping you feel safe enough to explore your experiences openly. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted while also helping you identify practical ways to move toward meaningful change.
I approach therapy from a whole-person perspective, recognizing the connection between emotional, physical, relational, cultural, and spiritual well-being. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be impacting your life while also strengthening the tools and inner resources that already exist within you.
My role is not to judge or rush your process. It is to walk alongside you while helping you grow your self-understanding and build more balance into your life.
You possess an innate capacity for growth and resilience
Looking for a supportive and compassionate space to grow?
When you have a clearer understanding of yourself, it becomes easier to make choices that reflect who you are and what matters most to you. Therapy offers a space to explore, heal, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
Take the next step toward the life you want to build.

The person….
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where the warmth of my grandmother and the strength of my mother helped shape many of the values I carry today. Growing up surrounded by family taught me the importance of connection, resilience, and remaining grounded even during difficult moments.
From an early age, I found myself deeply curious about people, emotions, and the inner experiences we often carry quietly. Friends would naturally come to me for support, and over time, I realized how meaningful it felt to hold space for others authentically and compassionately. That curiosity eventually led me toward psychology and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.
Throughout my life, I’ve also experienced moments of loss, uncertainty, and challenge that shaped my own resilience, including living through Hurricane María in Puerto Rico in 2017. Those experiences strengthened my appreciation for growth, reflection, and the importance of caring for ourselves emotionally as well as physically.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, learning languages, spending time in nature, and finding simple moments that help me reconnect and recharge. I deeply value authenticity, lifelong learning, and creating meaningful connections with others.
Studying psychology has been one of the most meaningful projects of my professional and personal development. My training and experience throughout the years have led me to diverse clinical settings, including behavioral health services for hospitalized patients in secondary and tertiary care units, outpatient mental health and trauma clinics, behavioral health within primary care, crisis units, clinical work specifically with women, and psychological and cognitive assessments.
Throughout my professional journey, my primary role has been one of active guidance and support for patients during periods of change and emotional difficulties, helping them find balance and navigate these challenges with the support and care they need.
Each of my clinical experiences strengthens and refines my skills as a therapist, while also deepening my compassion for the people I support. These experiences have reaffirmed my belief that the most important aspects of therapy are openness, empathy, and attentive listening as a way of letting clients know: I am here, and I am with you. This is what I hope to offer every person who gives themselves the opportunity to engage in therapy with me.
