Dr. Adriana Danner-Vega, PsyD
Bilingual clinical psychologist providing personalized therapy for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, grief, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, and women’s mental health in Florida
Hi, I’m Dr. Adriana Danner-Vega!
I’m a bilingual clinical psychologist who believes therapy should be a place where you can be yourself and make sense of what you’re experiencing without feeling judged or rushed.
I provide therapy for anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ concerns, burnout, trauma, grief, relationships, and women’s mental health.
My approach is collaborative and individualized, so we’ll work together to explore the patterns, experiences, and environments that impact your sense of self, your relationships, and how you think and feel. I’ll help you deepen your insight while also bringing in practical tools to help you navigate life outside of therapy.
I support people from different backgrounds, identities, cultures, and life experiences. You don’t have to edit or explain parts of yourself to fit into the therapy room. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected and heard.
I’ll help you slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and figure out what you want for yourself, your career, and your relationships.
Together, we may explore:
How past experiences continue to affect you today
Identity, self-esteem, and self-acceptance
Navigating uncertainty and change
Patterns that contribute to anxiety, stress, or feeling overwhelmed
Your relationships with yourself and others
Your strengths, resources, and what matters most to you
Understanding and processing difficult emotions
I believe therapy can offer both understanding and strategies you can use in your everyday life. I’ll help you gain insight while also developing practical ways to manage emotions, navigate challenges, and make changes that feel meaningful to you. I draw on evidence-based strategies throughout this process, and adapt them to what you need rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Your whole self is welcome here
A space to understand yourself and what you need
Understanding yourself can open
the door to meaningful change
I offer individualized and inclusive therapy in English and Spanish for:
Anxiety
Constant worry can make it difficult to quiet your thoughts, stay present, or feel at ease in your own life. Therapy can help you understand what may be contributing to your anxiety while developing practical ways to manage overwhelming thoughts, emotions, and physical stress responses.
Depression
Depression can affect your motivation, relationships, sense of connection, and ability to enjoy things that once felt meaningful. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to these experiences while working toward meaningful and sustainable change.
Identity and Self-Acceptance
Sometimes, therapy is about getting to know yourself more clearly. We can explore your identity, self-esteem, values, and the expectations you’ve absorbed from the people and world around you. You’ll have space to figure out what feels true to you, what matters most to you, and how to feel more comfortable being yourself.
Life Transitions and Grief
Changes and losses can bring uncertainty, sadness, and questions about what comes next, your purpose, life’s meaning, and what you want out of life. Whether you’re adjusting to parenthood, retirement, a new job, or navigating grief or loss, therapy gives you space to process and find your footing again.
LGBTQ+ affirming therapy
Your identity and lived experience are important parts of your story. I offer affirming, culturally responsive care where LGBTQ+ clients can explore relationships, identity, and life experiences in a space where they can be fully themselves.
Stress and Burnout
Chronic stress and burnout often lead to mental and physical exhaustion. Therapy can help you understand what’s draining you, identify cycles you want to change, and find sustainable ways to manage daily life and responsibilities without losing yourself in the process.
Trauma
Painful experiences can shape the way you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to what happens around you. In therapy, we can gently explore what you’ve been through, how it’s affecting you, and the beliefs you’ve carried with you since. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while building greater understanding, emotional stability, and a stronger sense of trust in yourself.
Women’s Mental Health
As women, we often carry a lot of expectations about who we should be, how we should show up for others, and what a “good” life is supposed to look like. I offer a space to step back from those expectations and think about what you actually want and need. We can explore concerns related to relationships, mental health, identity, self-esteem, life transitions, and the different roles you may be balancing, while helping you reconnect to yourself.
You get to choose what comes next in your story.
List of therapies I offer:
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) strategies
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
LGBTQ+ affirming approaches
Psychodynamic therapy
Solution-focused therapy
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and purposeful. I want this to be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself and speaking freely. I’ll guide our sessions and bring my clinical knowledge, perspective, and evidence-based approaches, but I also believe that you are the expert on your life. We’ll work together to figure out what will help you most throughout therapy.
I’m naturally curious about the “why” behind things. We may look at patterns in your relationships, past experiences, environment, or ways of coping that have developed over time. We’ll also explore changes that you want to see and how you can move towards them.
Most importantly, I want therapy to be a space where you know that your identity, culture, strengths, wisdom, and lived experiences matter. I won’t reduce you to a list of symptoms or a diagnosis.
Understanding specific mental health concerns and symptoms helps direct treatment, but they are only one aspect of your story. They don’t define who you are.
What is it like to work with me?
You deserve an affirming therapist
who sees and supports the whole you
Move towards the changes you want in life
Whether you want to feel more confident, improve your relationships, better understand yourself, or feel less stuck, therapy is a place to work on what matters to you
Here you’ll have support to explore, heal, and grow
Want to learn more about me?
The person….
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and my roots are an important part of who I am. My grandmothers had a particularly strong influence on me. They were both accomplished women who built careers and families at a time when that wasn’t always expected of women. One became a teacher, and the other a pharmacist, and I grew up seeing what it looked like to pursue something meaningful while also being there for the people you love. My parents continued that example by supporting me on my own path and encouraging me to keep going, even when things didn’t come easily.
Growing up, I was the person friends would turn to when they needed
someone to listen, and I have been curious about people from an early age.
I remember at an early age wanting to understand what shapes us, how our experiences affect us, and why we sometimes respond to life in ways we don’t fully understand. That curiosity eventually led me to psychology and, ultimately, to the work I do today.
I love being a psychologist and the work I get to do with clients. I also value being able to take off the “psychologist hat” and simply be Adriana — a woman shaped by her family, her Puerto Rican roots, the women who came before her, the people she loves, and the experiences that continue to help her grow.
The professional….
My curiosity about people and what shapes us eventually became a career in psychology. Throughout my clinical training, I’ve worked in hospitals, outpatient and community settings, and educational environments. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds and stages of life, and have taught me to adapt my approach to the person sitting in front of me.
I’m especially passionate about LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and creating spaces where people can explore their experiences without having to explain, defend, or minimize who they are.
My work combines evidence-based strategies with deeper exploration of the experiences and patterns that shape us. I see my role as both a guide and a companion: someone who can offer clinical knowledge and perspective while honoring that you are the expert on your own life.
Ultimately, I want therapy to be a place where you feel understood, supported, and capable of making meaningful changes in your life.
